Law Syndrome

Changing The Syndrome Of A Disability

Many of us aren’t aware of the many challenges people with Down Syndrome face. The greatest challenge isn’t physical or mental, but the law—independent living often results in the loss of healthcare benefits. It’s not Down Syndrome that they suffer from, but Law Syndrome.

So, together with the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) we worked to change the law by focusing our attention to the people who could actually do something about it – our lawmakers.

C21 Restaurant – The Restaurant That Changed a Law

Named after the additional chromosome carried by people with Down Syndrome. C21 invited lawmakers and politicians from D.C. to a first-of-its-kind dining experience which demonstrated the realities of how ‘law syndrome’ was negatively impacting millions of people with Down Syndrome – our campaign, together with the help of thousands has now successfully changed the law for good.
